Madrid Bets on its Hotels As Spaces For Unique Experiences

For the seventh year in a row, hotels in Madrid have once again become gastronomic meeting points throughout the tapas world, thanks to the Hotel Tapa Tour, an informal gourmet festival. The gastronomic event, which will take place over ten days in 20 four- and five-star hotels in the capital, has the support of the Madrid City Council Tourism Department, which seeks to promote unique events and experiences in the city.

With meetings like this one, visitors to Madrid can discover the excellent gastronomic experiences that can be enjoyed in the city, namely in the best hotels in Madrid.

This encounter with gastronomy allows residents and visitors to enjoy the gastronomy of hotels without having to stay there.

In line with the city’s strategic plan, the City Council promotes and supports major gastronomic events that have already become essential events in the city, as they contribute to the enrichment of tourist, cultural and leisure alternatives in the capital, placing Madrid among the main gastronomic references. nationals and internationals.

The presentation ceremony of this new edition of the Hotel Tapa Tour, which took place today in the Royal Hall of the Casa de la Panadería, was attended by the Director of Tourism Hector Coronel, and the founder of the Tapa Tour Hotel, Nonna Rubio, who were accompanied by the Deputy Director General for Food Promotion in Spain (MAPA), Purificación González Camacho; General Director of the Regulatory Council of the Department of Internal Controls. Ribera del Duero, Miguel Sanz; and Executive Vice-President of the Hotel Association of Madrid (AEHM), Mar de Miguel.

Hector Coronel highlighted how Madrid has increased its four- and five-star hotel facilities, and how this type of establishment is accompanied by surprising gastronomic proposals that add more value and attraction to the city’s gastronomic offer.

Three Suggestions at Each Hotel

Under the slogan “What miswak are you?” , this edition of the Tapa Tour invites you to discover, share and enjoy the local gastronomy through tapa, a gastronomic and cultural icon. From the 15th to the 25th of September, up to three different combinations can be tried at participating Madrid hotels, which together form a tasting menu. Made with food from Spain and paired with wines from Ribera del Duero, signature croquettes accompanied by 1906 beers or sweet tapas with cocktails made in Cointreau will be the stars.

You can participate in this gastronomic event for free or following one of the official itineraries of the event guide, which will be available from September 12 at hotels that are part of the Hotel Tapa Tour 2022.

  • Recoletos: BLESS Madrid Hotel, Fénix Gran Meliá Hotel, VP Jardín de Recoletos
  • Chambery / Chueca: Relais & Châteaux Hotel Orfila, Urso Hotel & Spa
  • Salamanca: Relais & Châteaux Heritage Madrid, Barceló Emperatriz
  • Castilian: InterContinental Madrid, Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid, Canopy by Hilton Madrid Castilian.
