The Importance of Protecting Your Skin and Using Sunscreen

When summer arrives, it’s time to go to the beach, pool and rivers to sunbathe and sunbathe. While tanning is attractive, sunbathing without protecting your skin can have serious long-term health and beauty consequences.

Today we will see the importance of protecting your skin from the sun, as well as telling you how to do it right and which products you should use.

Why Should You Protect Yourself From the Sun’s Rays?

Moderate exposure to sunlight is positive and even necessary. If done with protection and low radiation and for a short time, it has benefits such as stimulating vitamin D synthesis, lowering blood pressure, improving circulation, improving mood and relieving symptoms of acne and other skin conditions.

However, prolonged exposure to the sun has negative effects. At best, it can cause skin irritation, premature aging, makeup damage, more wrinkles and fine lines, sunspots, and hyperpigmentation. In more severe cases, it causes burns and also melanoma, which is the most dangerous type of skin cancer.

This is produced by UV rays, which appear as UVA and UVB rays. Furthermore, these UV rays are harmful even in winter, especially when it snows due to reflections. Therefore, you should always protect yourself from the sun even in the coldest months.

Tips to protect your skin
If you want to safely sunbathe and prepare your skin for summer, you need to protect it properly. At the beginning of summer, let your skin reveal itself gradually, do it gradually and smoothly. For example, avoid exposure to UV rays between 12:00 and 16:00, as these are the hours most exposed to UV rays.

Use Sunscreen

Before sunbathing, use sun protection products. These products help protect the skin naturally. Its effectiveness depends on the sun protection factor (SPF) or sun protection factor, which determines the duration of its protective effects. The higher the number, the more protected you are, so the highest quality is usually a factor of 50 or higher.

Best of all, it allows you to protect yourself without giving up your summer tan or the benefits of sunbathing. In addition, the highest quality does not clog pores and can be used even under makeup.

To protect yourself, use sunscreen and spray it evenly all over your body, and do this half an hour before sunbathing. Be sure to add a good amount to the most sensitive areas of your body such as your face, shoulders, neck, ears, hands, lips, and chest. Use the cream even on cloudy days, as clouds only block 10% of the radiation.

Also, don’t stop using it if you have a darker skin tone. While it is true that lighter skin types are the most sensitive to light, darker skin types are not completely excluded. And age and sex don’t matter here, harming men, women, children and the elderly alike. Therefore, everyone must protect themselves to avoid further harm.

Protect Your Skin With Other Products

Of course, you shouldn’t just use sunscreen to protect your skin. There are also other products that will help keep your skin fresh and hydrated. These products also help to reverse the effects of excessive sun exposure, repair cracks in the skin, restore lost elasticity, and prevent pain and irritation.

If you combine it with drinking water frequently, without expecting to feel thirsty, in addition to wearing the right clothes, you will have a radiant complexion and you can sunbathe without much worry.
